Jim Boyd, Vice Chairman
James (Jim) Boyd (Chairman) was first appointed to the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority Board by Mayor Clarice Liechty in April 2007 to complete the term vacated by George Teller. He was subsequently re-appointed to serve on the board 2008-2012. Mr. Boyd currently carries the portfolio for the Budget & Projects and has led the 5-year Strategic Planning effort. Mr. Boyd is chairing the Strategic Project Committee of Economic Development Growth for the Airport Community. Mr. Boyd has also led efforts to improve our commercial air service by working with the airline, ND Aeronautics Commission, and our congressional delegation to accommodate higher passenger seat availability to meet the local demand. In December 2007, NWA agreed to link our airport with Devils Lake, and provide non-stop service to and from Minneapolis.

Mr. Boyd was elected to serve as Vice Chairman in October, 2007, completing the term of Merle Bingham, and was re-elected Vice Chairman for the 2008 year. Mr. Boyd also serves on the Human Resource Committee.

Mr. Boyd has been a Jamestown resident since 1975, working at Goodrich Corporation from 1975 to 2006, when he retired after 31 years of service. His professional career here began in design engineering, progressed through program management, but spent his last 22 years in marketing and business development. He retired as Director of Business Development and Product Support. Previously, Mr. Boyd worked for Arctic Cat as Project Engineer and the Boeing Company as Design Engineer.

Mr. Boyd is currently Vice President of the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation, where he is serving on the Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Jets for Jamestown Committee, and the Business Community/Jamestown College Connections Committee. He is the current President of the Buffalo City Lions Club. Mr. Boyd is also on the St. James Basilica Pastoral Council and is chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee. He also assisted in the development of a long-range business plan for the non-profit organization, Farm Rescue. Mr. Boyd is a member and mentor for Innovate North Dakota, and was a nominee for the 2007 Governor's Choice Awards as Volunteer Developer of the Year.

Mr. Boyd earned his Masters in Management from the University of Mary and his BS in Arts & Science with a major in Mathematics from South Dakota State University. He is married to Margaret, who is a Registered Nurse at the Jamestown Hospital, and they have two grown sons, Bradley and wife Landa plus three grandchildren, and Jay, all who currently reside in Jamestown.

Mayor Katie Andersen

Katie moved to Jamestown with her parents, Ron Hemmer and Laurie Julian, and three siblings, Austin, Mason and Caroline, in 1994. Katie graduated from Jamestown High School in 1999 with a class rank of 1 out of 263. Katie attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. She graduated with high-honors in just over three years with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. While attending college Katie worked for Mix Dry Cleaners, Perkins Family Restaurant in Jamestown and Brookings, Jamestown Country Club pro-shop and swimming pool, and Jamestown Gymnastics Club.
Katie worked for the South Dakota Legislature for two sessions as partisan and non-partisan staff of the Appropriation Committee. She has also been the assistant manager of Perkins Family Restaurant in Fargo and the director of a non-profit organization (Valley Twisters Gymnastics Club). Katie is currently the co-owner of Martinizing Dry Cleaning in Jamestown and a licensed real estate agent in ND for Dardis Realty.
In 2004 Katie married Ryan Andersen. Ryan is also a graduate of Jamestown High School. Ryan also has a degree in Math from Jamestown college and a degree in Engineering from NDSU. Ryan and Katie have one son, Camron. Camron will be four years old in July, 2010.
Katie enjoys music, gymnastics, golf and learning. She is a member of the Basilica Choir at St. James Basilica, where she is also a cantor for parish services. She also chairs the Liturgy Committee for the Basilica. Katie is a registered gymnastics official for the North Dakota High School Activities Association. Though Katie is no longer coaching gymnastics, she is happy to have the opportunity to support the sport she loves through officiating. Katie is also pursuing a Master of Education Degree to continue her love of life long learning and share her passion for government with secondary and upper level education students.


Merle Bingham has been a Jamestown resident for 8 years while employed by Goodrich in multiple leadership roles supporting manufacturing and international customer support for the worldwide commercial aircraft fleet.
As a graduate of Arizona State University and Wentworth Institute, he has been active in aerospace technology development for the past 30 years on key programs such as Patriot, Phoenix, Maverick, TOW, Sidewinder missile systems, commercial aircraft manufacturing, turbine engine manufacture and R&D of ceramic engine components. As project manager in these industries, he has managed several large facility programs to design and build factory facilities.
Over this same time frame he has maintained an active role in aviation as a commercial pilot and licensed A&P Technician supporting the resoration of WWII aircraft with the Commemorative Air Force.


James (Jim) Dodd joined the Jamestown Airport Board in December, 2007. Jim is retired from the US Air Force after serving twenty-two years on active duty in the bioenvironmental engineering career field. He holds an associate degree in environmental health and a bachelor's degree in aviation management. Jim is a life-long flying enthusiast, holds a private pilot's license, and is a member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Andrew J Schneider is a graduate from the University of North Dakota and has a bachelors degree in Airport Management. After spending eight months in Michigan as an operations Supervisor, he moved to Jamestown to become the new Airport Manager in April 2008.

Mr. Schneider joined the Air Force Reserve after high school and spent five years in cargo operations. He participated in Operation Enduring Freedom as well as spending four months at Rhein Mein Airbase, Germany.

Mr. Schneider is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and is currently working on his Accredited Membership in AAAE. Andrew is a native of Beulah, North Dakota and enjoys scuba diving, kayaking, watersports, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
